How do you differentiate a high-end personal training studio that promotes good health by way of commitment, hard work and ongoing support from an industry that is constantly turning out the next magic pill or gadget that will miraculously change your body in ‘just minutes a day’? By no means an easy sell.
When we met Fitness Together, they had one studio in Fresno, California and two more on the way. They were advertising with inconsistent messages in mediums they considered inexpensive, but truly didn’t hit their target audience. While this was a problem, it was by no means insurmountable. The true challenge lied in the fact that Fitness Together had nothing own-able that distinguished them from their competition. What they needed was an idea.
When developing the concept we focused on the basics. Fitness Together is a high-end personal training studio that promotes good health by way of exercise, nutrition and support. Each trainer holds various fitness certificates and college degrees, unlike most personal trainers, truly making them specialists in their field. The bottom line… this is a serious place for people serious about their health. This lead to our development of a campaign that, instead of touting what they are, as all the magic bullets and gadgets out there do, instead separated Fitness Together from the pack by saying what they aren’t. This approach allowed Fitness Together to plant their proverbial flagpole higher on the hill than the over-promises that are rife in the fitness industry.
After only 3 weeks, this inspiring campaign successfully generated 25% more leads per week and has consistently produced this amount since its conception. To date, the local Fitness Together owners now have 3 studios in Fresno and Clovis and one in Sacramento; each consistently meeting their sales goals.
Due to the incredible success of this campaign locally, Fitness Together Corporate launched this campaign to its 425 studios nation-wide beginning 3rd Quarter, 2009.
